Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Services Representative to join our dynamic team at MDS. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and troubleshooting cutting-edge systems in gas turbine engine test facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide top-notch customer support and lead issue resolution and mitigating technical risks.
- Oversee, supervise, and consistently enhance adherence to ISO accreditation, focusing on the technical proficiency of the calibration process.
- Maintain and troubleshoot systems in Gas Turbine engine test facilities, fine-tuning them for peak performance.
- Handle day-to-day requirements of valued customers, offering continuous feedback to both clients and design authorities.
- Perform system troubleshooting, addressing software and hardware issues from the application level down to the assembly level.
- Execute required system calibration and hardware maintenance, ensuring precision instruments operate at peak efficiency.
- Ensure traceability and rigorous configuration control, safeguarding the integrity of our systems.
- Provide invaluable feedback to the hardware and software design departments, contributing to the evolution of current and proposed systems.
- Actively monitor system operation and support processes, suggesting and implementing improvements to keep our systems operating at peak efficiency.
- Maintain and manage critical spares for all system hardware.
- Propose preventative actions, workarounds, and solutions to tackle system problems head-on.
- Be a driving force in suggesting improvements to products, processes, and environmental aspects, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Tackle intricate instrumentation troubleshooting, measuring various parameters such as temperature, pressure, frequency, strain, vibration, and flow.
- Embrace the challenge of a 24/7 shift pattern, confidently working as a key team member to meet our clients' needs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working with electronics, instrumentation, and/or control systems.
- Understanding of calibration and measurement systems, with prior experience in conducting root cause analysis and dealing with measurement uncertainty within the calibration process.
- Working knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems.
- Engineering degree or HND in Engineering, or relevant practical experience.
