Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a comprehensive Defect Investigation Service tailored to meet client specifications.
  • Oversee a technical service team and laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards, Resource Planning Systems, and maintenance protocols.
  • Guide and nurture the professional growth of team members in Defect Investigation and Materials Science.
  • Provide expert Materials Science assistance to engineering teams and coordinate external investigative services as needed.
  • Efficiently manage and prioritize tasks across various engineering sectors.
  • Mentor engineers and scientists, enhancing their proficiency in Materials Science.
  • Drive the team towards innovative methodologies in Defect Investigation and technical leadership.
  • Possess a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in science or engineering disciplines.
  • Exhibit self-management and motivation, actively pursuing ongoing professional development.
  • Acquire hands-on skills in laboratory techniques, including micro-section preparation and microscopy.
  • Communicate effectively across various disciplines, both verbally and in written form.
  • Work autonomously or collaboratively to address technical challenges.
  • Demonstrate a methodical approach to Defect Investigation.
  • Offer insights on Materials Science topics to the broader community.
  • Have a well-rounded background in the Product Life Cycle across diverse projects and engineering fields.
  • Experience in managing customer and supplier relationships within multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Proficient in advanced techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy, Optical Microscopy, micro-section preparation, and vacuum processing.
