Gi Group is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Practitioner to join our client in Worksop. The successful candidate will promote and support the health and wellbeing of employees, providing occupational health surveillance, health screening, and health promotion advice and guidance.
Main Responsibilities:- Conduct pre-employment health assessments and provide advice on fitness for work.
- Assess referrals to the occupational health service and provide guidance on maintaining a healthy workforce.
- Support staff returning to work after absence, providing medical advice and guidance on reasonable adjustments.
- Organise and conduct health surveillance assessments in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Identify health trends and develop initiatives to prevent ill health and absence.
- Lead health and wellbeing initiatives, including mental health first aiders.
- Work with the health and safety team to improve first aid provision and increase the skills and confidence of first aiders.
- Organise flu vaccination drives and other immunisation services as required.
- Refer staff to external support agencies and services as needed.
- Develop and implement health promotion strategies and initiatives.
- Experience in occupational health outside of a hospital environment.
- Experience in a medical role.
- Recognised occupational health qualification.
- Registered nursing qualification.
- Knowledge of current occupational health best practice.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
