Position Summary
J.P. Morgan's Global Index Research serves as a pivotal center for fixed income indices within the Corporate and Investment Bank, integrated into the Global Research framework.
As an Executive Director in the Global Index Research Group at J.P. Morgan, you will have the chance to design, oversee, and promote proprietary indices while commercializing research data for beta-access products. This role involves collaboration with various research teams within J.P. Morgan to create thematic publications and marketing initiatives. Our clientele includes some of the largest asset managers, insurance and pension firms, and sovereign wealth funds, with a global footprint in major financial hubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehend the product intricacies (rules, bonds, market dynamics, macroeconomic factors, etc.) and ensure product reliability and relevance;
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to inform them about structural and tactical modifications in index products and their market implications;
- Interface with clients while conducting data analysis and resolving issues;
- Develop a suite of tools to enhance analytical support for index product innovation;
- Manage multiple high-profile projects through effective project management, collaborating with internal and external experts and product owners;
- Oversee operational aspects to uphold product integrity;
- Foster strong relationships with clients and partners in Research, Quantitative Research, Data Science, and Technology.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related STEM field;
- Exceptional organizational abilities, decisive priority management, strong teamwork orientation, and the capacity to think locally while executing globally with high social awareness;
- Logical thinker with robust quantitative problem-solving skills;
- Familiarity with fixed income concepts, bond mathematics, financial products, analytics, and awareness of market developments;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Extensive experience in client interfacing;
- Proficient programming skills in R or Python (or similar languages);
- Experience in a fixed income index team or within an ETF product development team at an asset management firm;
- Experience in developing index families across various fixed income asset classes and collaborating with clients to create tailored benchmarks for financial products.
- Prior experience in indexing, data science, data management, and data visualization techniques;
- Knowledge of statistical modeling, time series analysis, stochastic calculus, probability theory, and numerical methods;
- Experience presenting at conferences and webinars.
