We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Therapist to join our team in the Tri-Borough Under 5's Pathway. As a key member of our specialist team, you will work collaboratively with families, infants, and young children to provide therapeutic support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and develop treatment plans, taking into account theoretical and therapeutic models, as well as historical and developmental processes.
  • Formulate, deliver, and review psycho-social interventions, including 1:1 therapy and group programs.
  • Contribute to the development of a high-quality service, underpinned by evidence-based practice, care pathways, and NICE and DH guidance.
  • Provide parent-infant supervision and support the growth of knowledge and skills regarding infant mental health across the early years system.
  • Assess and manage risk to infant and parent when working with relational difficulties.

Person Specification
  • Doctoral-level training in Clinical, Educational, or Counselling Psychology, or Specialist Health Visitors with relevant registration and post-qualified training in Infant Mental Health approaches.
  • Post-qualification training in Infant Mental Health, such as Parent Infant Psychotherapy, Video Interaction Approaches, and Parent-Infant Group Approaches.
  • Ability to construct clear care plans and write reports using accessible language and demonstrating clinical reasoning.
  • Experience of working in a mental health setting, managing and monitoring risk, and working with nursery, school, and parents to engage them in interventions.
  • In-depth knowledge of child development and factors influencing the developing parent-infant relationship.
