Job Title: Senior Practitioner Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to lead our Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) support team in North Essex. As a Senior Practitioner Lead, you will provide expert guidance and support to NQSWs, helping them to develop their skills and confidence in their roles.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive salary of £45,217 to £54,395 per annum. You will be based in Colchester and will be required to travel throughout the county of Essex and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and support to NQSWs, helping them to develop their skills and confidence in their roles.
  • Develop and deliver group supervision sessions, workshops, and bespoke support to NQSWs.
  • Assess and develop NQSWs, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work closely with the NQSW support team to ensure that all NQSWs receive the support they need to succeed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised social work qualification, such as a Diploma, degree, or masters in social work, with current registration with Social Work England as a registered social worker.
  • Significant experience of social work, demonstrating a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of all relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance.
  • Experience of mentoring both social work students and newly qualified and experienced social work staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including NQSWs, managers, and other professionals.
