MARKETING & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Marketing & Development Officer as Lake District Music embarks on an exciting new long-term initiative.

This pivotal position is at the heart of LDM, collaborating closely with the Operations Director to design and execute a variety of imaginative campaigns aimed at boosting ticket sales, expanding audiences, nurturing young talent, and enhancing brand visibility. You will spearhead all our print and digital marketing efforts while also contributing to our initiatives to engage individual supporters. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MARKETING (85%):

  • Develop, implement, and assess effective, data-informed marketing strategies for all print and digital initiatives.
  • Collaborate with designers and create some marketing materials in-house.
  • Manage and produce captivating content for all digital platforms.
  • Oversee the printing, distribution, and mailing of LDM's print marketing, ensuring a high-quality output.
  • Coordinate volunteers to aid in publicity efforts and actively broaden the network of reciprocal partners.
  • Commission, compile, and edit program notes along with all promotional materials, biographies, and visuals from artists and agents.
  • Arrange print and digital advertising within established budgets.
  • Draft press releases and maintain an updated press contact list.
  • Contribute actively to LDM's audience development strategy.

DEVELOPMENT (10%):

  • Support LDM's Individual Giving programs and campaigns.
  • Manage donations, update donor information, and process contributions and renewals.
  • Collect and maintain current gift aid declarations.
  • Assist in organizing fundraising events and other opportunities for LDM to engage with its supporters.
  • Maintain the database and ensure regular updates to/from the box office system.

GENERAL (5%):

  • As part of a small team, contribute to the overall administration of the organization, including handling mail, banking, responding to inquiries, and other minor tasks.
  • Actively support the broader objectives of LDM and assist colleagues, especially during peak times.
  • Continuously learn and stay informed about new ideas, processes, and opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact in LDM's office, particularly for volunteers.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating cross-platform campaigns to achieve sales and engagement objectives.
  • Strong digital marketing expertise, including managing both paid and organic social media campaigns.
  • Excellent print marketing experience, encompassing advertising/editorial opportunities and large-scale printed materials.
  • Experience with CRM or ticketing systems to effectively understand, segment, and target audiences, providing insights back into campaigns to enhance audience engagement.
  • Proven copywriting skills for diverse audiences and platforms, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in updating website content using Wordpress.
  • Collaboration with designers, partners, and suppliers on advertising, print, and distribution.
  • Highly organized and dependable with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in MS 365, MailChimp, Photoshop (or similar design software).
  • Friendly, approachable, and capable of energizing a team of volunteers.
  • A passion for music and/or experience in the arts sector.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • A genuine interest in social media and staying current with digital trends.
  • Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) for tracking and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Google AdGrants.
  • Skills in graphic design and video editing.
