Job Title: Learning Support Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Advisor to join our team at the Learning Curve Group. As a Learning Support Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with additional learning needs at our Birmingham Military Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structured support to learners with EHCP plans in a class and/or outdoor setting.
  • Aid access to learning experiences and provide modified materials as required.
  • Offer positive reinforcements, praise, and emotional support to learners.
  • Advise instructors on necessary adjustments for learners with learning support needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to Learning Support Plans and contact logs.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to enhance the well-being and personal development of learners.
  • Agree learning support aims and interventions with learners and set them out in the Learning Support Plan.
  • Foster links with external agencies and carers.
  • Facilitate inclusion in small group activities and support interaction between learners.
  • Attend in-service training and relevant meetings to stay up-to-date with developments.
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company.
  • Comply with safeguarding, prevent, and health and safety policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks.
  • Provide learners, customers, and colleagues with support, advice, and guidance as part of your everyday role.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Post 16 learners with EHCPs is essential.
  • GCSE, 'O' Level, or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English are required.
  • NVQ3 or equivalent as recognized by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning is necessary.
  • Training in aspects of SEN, such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and SEMH, is also required.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people with SEND.
  • Knowledge of EHCP plans and the ability to implement them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
