The Role: HGV Class 1 Driver

We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team at our Newbridge site. This role involves transporting goods to and from client locations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery while adhering to all road traffic regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate a Class 1 HGV for the transportation of goods to and from client locations.
  • Ensure safe and efficient driving practices in compliance with road traffic regulations.
  • Oversee the secure unloading of vehicles at customer premises, obtaining signed Proof of Delivery documents.
  • Verify load security and weight distribution according to best practices before each journey.
  • Utilize mobile equipment for loading and unloading vehicles as required and with appropriate training.
  • Practice fuel-efficient driving techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, 5S, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
  • Proactively identify potential health and safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition through daily checks and adherence to safe driving practices.
  • Accurately update documentation related to product transportation as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Full DCPC qualification.
  • Experience working in a flexible, results-oriented team environment.
  • Completion of 35 hours of training for your DCPC.
  • Previous experience in warehousing or distribution operations.
  • HGV driving skills and license appropriate to the vehicle class.
  • Ability to read written instructions and accurately record work performed.
  • Understanding and experience of EHS requirements within a warehouse or distribution setting.
