Job Title: Class 1 HGV Driver

We are seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team at ASD in Edinburgh. As a leading metal stockholder and processing supplier in the UK, we are committed to delivering high-quality steel products and cost-efficient metal solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out safe and efficient driving duties, ensuring compliance with road traffic regulations.
  • Oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises, ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned promptly.
  • Check load security and weight distribution according to safe working practices before and after each drop.
  • Operate mobile equipment to load and/or unload vehicles, as required.
  • Follow best practices for fuel-efficient driving and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively identify potential health and safety hazards in the workplace and ensure vehicles are in safe condition.
  • Update documentation relating to the carriage of products accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Full DCPC qualification.
  • Experience working in a flexible, results-oriented team environment.
  • Ability to read written instructions and record work accurately.
  • Understanding and experience of EHS requirements in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • HGV driving skills and license to the appropriate vehicle class.
