The Medicines Discovery Catapult is a national facility and innovation centre that connects the UK community to accelerate innovative drug discovery. Our mission is to overcome and unlock barriers to successful medicines discovery, building mission-oriented communities to overcome sector challenges and bringing new treatments to patients faster.
We bring together life sciences, academics, industry, charities, and government agencies to collectively accelerate medicines discovery in the UK. As a member of the Executive Team, the Chief Commercial Officer will be responsible for the development and delivery of our business development strategy, securing a sustainable pipeline of relevant commercial, charity, and grant-funded projects that realise benefits for the Medicines Discovery Catapult and our partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain vibrant external networks and foster strong, collaborative relationships with our stakeholders.
- Lead the marketing and communications functions at the Medicines Discovery Catapult.
- Play a key role in ensuring the organisation continues to thrive.
We are seeking an effective, creative, and efficient business leader with a track record of managing teams in a complex and dynamic life sciences business environment. You will have a demonstrable track record of strong commercial performance, with evidence of profitable in-year and long-term R&D contracts, and experience working with a range of academic, charity, and industrial partners.
Requirements:
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in business development.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
