Innovation Manager in Coatings

The Technical Manager will oversee the R&D team to:
- Manage the formulation and enhancement of durable coatings from laboratory to production scale, providing necessary support post-launch.
- Innovate new products/formulations and refine existing ones.
- Conduct laboratory development, testing, and analysis, including competitor assessments and stability evaluations.
- Assess and approve new or alternative raw materials, including supplier interactions.
- Advance projects through to production scale-up while adhering to the FMAP process.
- Draft and present technical reports to key stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and monitor key performance indicators such as profitability and performance metrics.
- Participate in the ideation and innovation processes, effectively building a pipeline of innovation projects and driving current and future new product development (NPD) initiatives.
- Provide support to various departments including QA, Marketing, and Production.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a physical science discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in product development utilizing project plans within a structured process.
- Ability to articulate clear and organized project plans within a stage-gated framework.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry and materials science.
- Capable of conveying complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of the coatings market and best practices in formulation.
- Sound knowledge of the European regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with industry testing standards (ISO/EN/ASTM).
- Experience with Six Sigma methodologies, experimental designs, and statistical analysis.
- A valid UK driving license is required.
