Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sexual Health Nurse to join our team at Service Care Solutions Ltd. As a Sexual Health Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our sexual health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Pathology Results: You will be responsible for managing pathology results and ensuring that patients are provided with information, advice, treatment, and support when diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection.
- Leadership and Management: You will supervise and mentor junior staff and nursing students, and take an active role in the leadership and management of the nursing team.
- Clinical Sessions: You will undertake nurse-led clinical sessions, including history taking and physical examinations of patients, within agreed departmental clinical guidelines and within your own clinical competence.
- Partner Notification: You will carry out partner notification, ensuring the attendance and treatment of contacts as detailed in the Society of Sexual Health Advisers (SSHA) Partner Notification policy.
- Enquiries and Support: You will deal with telephone and personal enquiries from both the public and other health professionals concerning sexually transmitted infections, including HIV and AIDS.
- Medication and Vaccinations: You will issue and/or administer medication/vaccinations to patients attending the Sexual Health Service, adhering to Patient Group Directions (PGDs) when authorized by the lead clinician.
- Patient Education: You will teach patients, where appropriate, to administer their own treatment as necessary.
- Clinical Governance: You will participate in clinical supervision and service appraisal scheme, and contribute to the clinical governance program of the Sexual Health Service, ensuring accurate records are maintained, participating in relevant research and audit, and improving the quality of nursing practice.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: You will be flexible and willing to work in a variety of clinical settings within the service across East Berkshire as required.
Additional Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary and a range of benefits, including a £250 bonus for starting this contract and a £250 referral fee for successful referrals.
