Reliability and Maintenance Engineering Role

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Reliability and Maintenance Engineering Technician to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our RME team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  3. Utilize the latest tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and efficiency.
  4. Adhere to all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  5. Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.
  6. Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices across our EU sites.

A Day in the Life

As a Reliability and Maintenance Engineering Technician, you will work on-site, responding quickly to any machinery issues that arise. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment is working safely and efficiently. You will also have the opportunity to suggest long-term improvements and work with senior colleagues to implement changes.

Working on a range of shifts, you will ensure our sites are supported around the clock, allowing us to deliver at the speed we're known for. You will work closely with contractors when necessary, utilizing your technical expertise to resolve complex issues.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is dedicated to maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We work together to ensure our equipment is performing at its best, using our collective expertise to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ)
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
  • Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants with:

  • Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng
  • Experience in condition-based monitoring
  • Experience working with print and apply machines
  • Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
