Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Holtec International, a global leader in clean energy solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing mechanical and structural components for our SMR-160+ small modular reactor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical and structural components for the SMR-160+ plant
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and analysts to develop innovative solutions
  • Participate in daily activities of the Mechanical Engineering team to create feasible and practical solutions
  • Develop technical documentation and perform verification design concepts
  • Support the preparation of design deliverables and communicate design progress in stakeholder meetings
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in generating design solutions through formal optioneering processes or similar
  • Experience in carrying out mechanical engineering substantiation for new designs
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage credibly within and external to the business
Desired Experience:
  • Experience in design/fabrication of products such as heat exchangers, piping valves, and pumps, and ASME components
  • Industry experience in using FEA simulation to support product development
  • Experience working with engineers and fabricators to develop designs and drawings
  • Experience with using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant software suites
