Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Kitchen Porter to assist our chefs and cooks with various tasks, including dishwashing, kitchen cleanliness, food preparation, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dishwashing and Kitchen Cleanliness: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers, and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Food Preparation: Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring equipment is in good working order.
  • Goods In and Out: Assist with receiving and storing goods, and ensuring accurate inventory levels.
Requirements
  • No Formal Education Required: A high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred, but not required.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic Knowledge of Kitchen Equipment: Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
