Objective of the Role

This position is integral to the ADCR Team, focusing on fulfilling the designated number of credit assessments through Continuous and Branch Credit Reviews. The aim is to provide management with assurance that the grading assigned to each entity is appropriate and adheres to Bank protocols.

The primary focus is on Corporate Banking clientele.

Overview

  • The Audit Department Credit Review Group (ADCR) is tasked with delivering reasonable assurance regarding the accuracy of the Obligor and the Borrower's Category assigned to the Bank's credit-related Obligors. These classifications are proposed by Front Office (FO) departments across SMBC EMEA offices and are primarily sanctioned by the Credit Department (CD).
  • ADCR functions encompass Continuous Review, Branch Credit Review, Self-Assessment (SA) Classification Review, and Discounted Cash Flow Reviews.
  • This role will assist the ADCR Group in executing assigned reviews and participating in ADIA's FO Onsite audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine assigned credit applications to verify the accuracy of the Obligor and Borrower's Category (if applicable).
  • Engage in discussions regarding identified issues and seek clarifications from the FO representative to finalize the credit reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Review Partner to discuss Findings and Recommendations that need to be escalated.
  • Submit reviews, including Recommendations and Other Findings, to the Credit Review Partner for endorsement.
  • Manage the follow-up and resolution of any Recommendations issued.
  • Execute additional ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Credit Review Partner, including Self-Assessment Classification Review or DCF Review.
  • Act as a deputy for the Credit Review Partner by 1) attending Special Credit Review (SCR) meetings as an observer; 2) organizing and leading periodic meetings with stakeholders.
  • Participate in ADIA's FO Onsite audits.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Experience in corporate banking credit analysis, acquired within major European or global banks, is crucial for demonstrating a solid understanding of large and global corporate credits.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking products and robust credit analysis capabilities, including sound accounting knowledge, are essential.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent written abilities, particularly in concise writing, are vital for efficiently completing reviews, preparing reports, documenting findings, and liaising with key stakeholders and ADCR management.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is necessary to perform review tasks; the ability to interpret and document findings, including trend identification, is also required.
  • A high level of IT proficiency is expected.
  • A degree-level education and/or relevant professional qualifications are preferred.
