This exceptional hospital offers acute mental health care and a specialized step-down ward focused on community integration. The team provides comprehensive support to adult males experiencing acute mental health episodes, ensuring they receive the necessary care during challenging times.

Your Role as an Occupational Therapist

As an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, ensuring effective delivery of therapies, activities, and interventions.
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments to identify needs, prioritize care, and plan appropriate interventions for individuals or groups. Maintaining accurate records of each patient's progress and rehabilitation journey.
  • Providing guidance and support to junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice aligns with company policies, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
  • Contributing to business growth by actively promoting therapy services in line with the unit's strategic objectives.
  • Maintaining open communication channels with patients, families, carers, and stakeholders throughout the patient's rehabilitation process.
Desired Skills and Experience

While a degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration are essential, the following skills and experience would be highly advantageous:

  • Proven experience in mental health settings and knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
  • A patient-centered approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional care.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
