About the Role:

As a Finance Manager at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of our organization. You will be responsible for managing a team of Fixed and Lease Asset accountants, overseeing the application of best practice, standardization, and effective controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team of Fixed and Lease Asset accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial objectives.
  • Oversight of the Group's IFRS 16 BPC tool and associated accounting, ensuring seamless integration with ERP systems.
  • Business partnering with lease asset stakeholders, both internally and externally, to manage and maintain ongoing leases.
  • Central point of contact for Fixed and Lease Assets, coordinating and supporting colleagues in France, Canada, and Australia as required.
  • Working within the capital investment team, overseeing the process to full approval in a timely manner to enable the successful delivery of the capex portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience of managing and developing a team within a Finance function, ideally in a complex international business environment.
  • Strong experience in reviewing and improving finance processes with a fresh perspective.
  • Technical finance skills, including ability to understand and interpret accounting principles such as IAS 16 Property, and Plant and Equipment and IFRS16 Lease Accounting.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness with a good understanding of the business environment, including customers, competitors, etc.
  • Experience of Finance IT applications (e.g., SAP, NAV (Navision, IFS, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • You must hold a recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
