Research Manager Assistant

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is a leading international think tank providing independent and objective information and analysis on military, geopolitical, and geo-economic developments.
We are seeking an Assistant Research Manager to work as part of the Director-General's team in the Executive Office, located in London. The successful candidate will provide extensive support to the IISS Research Board, including collation and distribution of Board papers, taking comprehensive minutes, tracking Research Board activities, and coordinating research proposal submissions and actions with operational and research teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Director-General and the Executive Office team.
- Coordinate across directorates and research programmes on behalf of the Director-General.
- Track research proposals, submissions, and associated funding status on CRM.
- Support the Managing Director, Executive Office as required, including providing administrative and Dialogue support, and maintaining CRM records.
- Manage IISS Advisory Council Meetings, including event logistics, speaker liaison, budget management, and acting as a point of contact for Board members.
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Excel skills.
