About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Crypto Security Specialist to join our team at QinetiQ. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical work to identify and derive security requirements, develop and analyze innovative solutions, and understand and shape both the "big picture" and technical details in the crypto security domain.
  • Deliver high-quality analysis, designs, reports, and presentations that focus on customer problems and solutions in the crypto-security domain and develop positive customer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborate and consult as part of a team in response to requests in the crypto security domain.
Requirements
  • Able to advise on how to integrate high-grade crypto into wider systems and key management to achieve security outcomes in accordance with accepted national good practice (recognized expert consensus).
  • Able to take high-level security objectives and break these down into the security requirements for a relatively complex crypto system in a mission context.
  • Able to propose and design new approaches to meet security requirements for a crypto system in a mission context.
  • Understand cybersecurity, its significance, concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, and assurance.
Qualifications
  • Degree-level education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with crypto and key management technology in an academic research or industrial environment or a combination.
