Senior Power BI Developer/Mentor Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to join our team in Birmingham. As a hybrid working opportunity, this role involves mentoring and training with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement best practices and development standards in Power BI.
  • Provide Power BI mentoring and training to team members.
  • Create data-rich dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Write DAX expressions and implement row-level security in Power BI.
  • Extract and transform datasets for reporting and analysis using SQL, R, Alteryx, and Snowflake.
  • Undertake thorough analysis and develop recommendations using data from multiple electronic sources.
  • Design and implement data architecture and modelling using facts and dimensions.
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy in Power BI reports.
  • Understand user experience in Power BI reporting and design intuitive dashboards.
  • Analyse and interpret complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Work calmly and systematically in a busy environment to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to team projects and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with data protection considerations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Power BI certified or extensive experience in report writing using business intelligence tools.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing best practices and development standards.
  • Power BI mentoring and training experience.
  • Experience in creating data-rich dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Experience in extracting and transforming datasets for reporting and analysis.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work calmly and systematically in a busy environment.
  • Good team player with an ability to contribute outside their principal area of work.
  • Knowledge of data protection considerations.
  • Equivalent skill level to HND, Degree, or NVQ4.
