The Market Surgery is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Team Leader to lead and supervise the practice nursing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an effective, quality-driven nursing service that meets the needs of the practice's patients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise the practice nursing team to ensure high standards of care and quality of service delivery.
- Develop and implement new clinical services and improve existing ones to meet the needs of the practice's patients.
- Work closely with the General Practitioners and practice manager to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Provide clinical care for practice patients, including chronic disease management, wound care, and health promotion.
- Implement new clinical services after agreement by the practice and lead on the development of the nursing team.
- Act as the practice lead for better working with other nursing services providing care for our patients.
- Attend practice/primary care meetings to update the partners and management with relevant information.
- Have regular meetings with the nursing team to understand any clinical or organizational problems.
- Work closely with the practice manager to manage staff within the nursing team.
- Participate in the recruitment of new staff when the need arises and ensure that they are inducted fully into the practice.
- Work with management to ensure that all staff have a training plan and keep themselves professionally updated.
- Ensure that all staff have refresher training in core work activities such as health and safety, manual handling, resuscitation, etc.
- Identify training needs of the nursing team and actively promote life-long learning and continuous improvement.
- Support the practice manager where necessary so that all staff who have been absent have a return to work interview and are supported appropriately when they return to work.
- Practice independently in accordance with UKCC code of conduct and with reference to practice guidelines, appropriately referring to GPs and other professionals.
- Experience in leading and supervising a nursing team.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of chronic disease management, wound care, and health promotion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and lead by example.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to implement new clinical services and improve existing ones.
- Knowledge of UKCC code of conduct and practice guidelines.
The successful candidate will work 26 hours per week and will be required to work in person. The salary for this role is from £21.00 per hour.
