BAM Nuttall is seeking a highly skilled Safety Advisor to join our team on a major energy project in the South West of England. As a key member of our dynamic and fast-paced team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the construction team, client, and supply chain to ensure seamless communication on health, safety, and wellbeing matters.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our health, safety, and wellbeing management system, aligning with contractual requirements and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Liaise with external bodies as necessary to address health, safety, and wellbeing concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate health, safety, and wellbeing risks throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on designing out risks.
  • Lead on health, safety, and wellbeing strategies and champion a positive organisational culture to achieve world-class performance.
  • Communicate and promote health, safety, and wellbeing plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Monitor and measure health, safety, and wellbeing performance in line with client contractual requirements, including trend analysis.
  • Promote the company vision and values in all interactions with employees, clients, and external contacts.
  • Conduct high-quality inspections and audits to identify opportunities for improved operational performance.
  • Lead and participate in accident investigations, ensuring robust findings and meaningful remedial actions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Advisor on infrastructure projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards.
  • Valid membership of IOSH.
  • Able to deliver internal health and safety management courses.
  • Able to advise on health and safety issues on a day-to-day basis on site.
  • Able to conduct standard accident investigations on site.
  • Able to write site inspection reports and audit reports.
