About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Case Officer to join our team at Coventry City Council. As an Environmental Case Officer, you will play a crucial role in enforcing environmental health regulations and ensuring that our community remains a clean and safe place to live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and enforce waste mismanagement in HMOs, including inspections and surveys to identify issues with waste storage, collection, or disposal.
  • Respond to complaints and reports of fly-tipping, littering, or illegal dumping of waste from HMOs.
  • Use your powers to issue fixed penalty notices, statutory notices, or prosecution proceedings to offenders.
  • Work closely with environmental health officers to ensure effective enforcement of environmental health regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience in enforcement, preferably in environmental health or a related field.
  • Ability to prepare and present evidence for prosecution cases, following relevant policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with other agencies and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and efficient approach to work.
