Job Title: Transport Clerk

**Job Summary:**

More Recruitment Solutions is seeking a reliable and experienced Transport Clerk to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of transport services, including pre-briefing and debriefing drivers, monitoring their activities, and ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure drivers are using the provided navigation systems and that their routes are correctly assigned.
  • Work morning shifts with a start time of 6am.
  • Verify that vehicles and trailers are roadworthy and that drivers have the necessary personal protective equipment and documentation.
  • Prepare route sheets for day or night shifts and brief drivers on their tasks.
  • Monitor and implement the daily plan using the transportation management system, communicate with drivers, and resolve any issues.
  • Report any absences, no-shows, or unusual activities to the transport manager and ensure customers are informed of any delivery risks.
  • Deal with vehicle breakdowns and ensure the compliance department and transport manager are aware.
  • Conduct daily yard checks and address any issues.
  • Provide a clear and informative handover at the end of each shift.
  • Conduct spot checks on vehicles and report any damages or defects.
  • Keep the Goods In and Goods Out screens on the warehouse management system up to date.
Requirements for Success:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
