About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Freight Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating new business and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, and follow-ups.
  • Build relationships with potential customers, understanding their freight forwarding needs.
  • Generate sales leads by identifying potential business prospects within the import/export sector.
  • Collaborate with external sales teams to convert prospects into long-term clients.
  • Provide quotations, negotiate rates, and close sales in line with company targets.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activity, customer interactions, and market trends in CRM systems.
  • Monitor market conditions to identify potential areas for growth and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with freight industry developments, including shipping regulations, costs, and supply chain challenges.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in inside sales, ideally within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of the freight forwarding process, including air, sea, and road freight.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Target-driven and motivated by achieving and exceeding KPIs.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
