About the Role
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Fellow in Obstetric Anaesthesia to join our team. As a key member of our research and improvement team, you will play a crucial role in delivering the obstetric implementation of the Obstetric Bleeding Study UK (OBS UK) project.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the tier 2 full-shift rota, ensuring a safe and efficient service while maximizing training opportunities for doctors.
- Provide support to junior trainees and medical students, actively contributing to training and continuity of service.
- Collaborate with academic partners to write up and submit research grant applications.
- Disseminate research findings by presenting at local, national, and international conferences.
- Write up research findings and submit to peer-reviewed journals.
Person Specification
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Completed at least three years' full-time postgraduate training in a specialty training programme in Anaesthetics or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty.
- A minimum of 12 months' experience working at Tier 2 (ST3+) level.
- Developing training competencies towards independent practice in all RCOG core training modules (or equivalent).
- Appropriate knowledge of Anaesthetics (ST4+ level) with evidence of continuing medical education relevant to the post.
- Previous research experience.
