Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a portfolio of planning projects, including energy, infrastructure, industrial, leisure, retail, education, offices, and residential developments.
  2. Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other planning documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  3. Provide expert planning advice to clients, ensuring the delivery of successful outcomes for development projects.
  4. Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities to facilitate consultation processes and ensure effective communication.
  5. Monitor and interpret relevant planning legislation and policy changes to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  6. Mentor and guide junior members of the planning team to support their professional growth and development.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant degree in town planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited).
  2. Membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  3. Relevant experience in the private sector, with a strong understanding of the UK planning system, policy frameworks, and development processes.
  4. Proven track record of managing planning projects, from inception to approval, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  5. Ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities, with a strong focus on delivering successful outcomes.
