Key Responsibilities:
In the role of Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with the Kier Professional Services (KPS) team to facilitate the execution of diverse mechanical projects, primarily within the water sector, including large-scale pumping stations. Your expertise will also contribute to the provision of advanced services through effective problem-solving.

Your daily tasks will encompass:
  • Conducting hydraulic calculations for pumping systems and selecting appropriate pumps.
  • Designing pumping systems and pumping stations, including pipework and valve configurations.
  • Creating equipment specification datasheets based on process requirement specifications and P&IDs for various treatment systems, such as sludge treatment and chemical dosing.
  • Reviewing and providing input on P&IDs.
  • Participating in HAZOP meetings to ensure safety and compliance.

Candidate Profile:
This position is ideal for individuals who:
  • Hold Chartered status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE).
  • Possess several years of post-qualification experience.
  • Have a background in the water sector, particularly with pumping stations.
