Job Title: Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at West Midlands Metro. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our tram fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative scheduled maintenance on trams, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Identify and diagnose faults in complex systems, using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
  • Support the testing, commissioning, and acceptance of new trams.
  • Record and report all work activities, including maintenance and fault finding.
  • Collaborate with the Rolling Stock Engineering Management team to deliver the production plan.
Requirements:
  • Experience in undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance on high-value safety-critical equipment.
  • Ability to find and diagnose faults in complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer-based diagnostic equipment.
  • Desirable qualifications: Mechanical and Electrical ONC or a time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical disciplines, Engineering-based NVQ level 3.
