Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to your team members to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
  • Training and Development: Implement ongoing training initiatives to keep team members updated on new products, customer requirements, best practices, and company policies.
  • Area Oversight: Take ownership of your team's area, overseeing day-to-day operations, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Support the recruitment of new drivers, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, completing observation days, and onboarding new team members.
  • Customer Service: Respond to urgent customer requests as directed by the scheduling team or management team, which may sometimes involve working extra hours.
  • Induction Training: Conduct comprehensive induction training for new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
  • Performance Feedback: Provide feedback on performance, including knowledge, attitude, and skill, to individuals and management.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous training or coaching experience is desirable.
  • Service Delivery and Driving Skills: Excellent service delivery and driving skills are essential.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work effectively with managers, drivers, HR, L&D, and Health and Safety teams.
  • Health and Safety: Ability to abide by and communicate/demonstrate Health and Safety regulations and COSHH, including always wearing appropriate protective clothing.
  • Resilience and Pressure Management: Demonstrates resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Driving License: Full UK manual driving license for a minimum of 12 months (subject to insurance requirements), with a maximum of 6 points.
  • DBS Check: The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of an enhanced DBS check.
  • Vaccinations: Due to the nature of waste handled and customers serviced, it is mandatory for drivers to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio.
