Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and career-driven Optometrist to join our team at Compass Associates. As a Specialist Optometrist, you will be working in a hospital setting, providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Eye Care Clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out examinations associated with cataract surgery
  • Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery for patients, documenting findings in electronic medical record systems
  • Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
  • Provide first-line clinical advice to patients and refer to medical practitioners as necessary
  • Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending mandatory update courses
  • Help control cross-infection by enforcing hospital policies on uniform, cleanliness, and decontamination procedures
  • Proactively identify ways to improve processes and services to ensure a streamlined, efficient, and high-quality service for patients
  • Ensure compliance with relevant pre-authorisation processes and collection of surgery deposits
  • Travel to hospital sites as required for training or meetings

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Experience using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems
  • Cataract experience (desirable) - training can be provided for the right candidate
  • IP qualification (desirable) - training can be provided for the right candidate
