Job Title: Senior Environmental Specialist

About the Role:

Dar, a leading international consulting organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Specialist to join its London design office. As a key member of the environmental team, you will be responsible for leading tasks and supporting project managers in the management of environmental and social issues across various infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in environmental impact assessment and management.
  • Lead tasks and coordinate studies to satisfy client requirements.
  • Assess large infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Manage specialist sub-consultants and supervise junior staff.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal writing and client relationship development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant environmental or ecological discipline.
  • Membership or working towards full membership of IEMA, IES, CIEEM, CIWEM, or similar body.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in ESIA/EIA, with a good understanding of ecological components.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy and strong report writing skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience of international environmental and social safeguard standards.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of UK EIA legislation and the UK planning system.
  • Chartered member of a relevant professional institution.
  • Air quality, noise assessment, water resources, and GIS skills.
