Lead Social Worker

About the Role
Kent County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Children in Care Service. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to social workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of social workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of excellent services
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other agencies
- Provide expert advice and guidance to social workers, managers, and other stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of the Children in Care Service, including the design and delivery of training programs
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent)
- Significant post-qualification experience of working with children and families
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders
- Knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014

Transport
The role requires you to be mobile throughout the operational area, including traveling to transport children and their belongings. A full UK driving license is required.
