We are seeking an experienced solicitor to join our Legal Affairs Team as a Compliance and Risk Lawyer. The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal advice to colleagues across the NFU, covering a broad range of legal areas, including non-contentious work, high-profile litigation, and legislative drafting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice to NFU colleagues on regulatory, public, and environmental law
- Support the development of the NFU's policy work and provide guidance on risk and reputational considerations
- Contribute to the team's legislative drafting work, influencing the development of new law
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve business objectives and support the NFU's mission
- Strong academic record (law or non-law degree at 2:1 or above)
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey complex legal matters to non-legal audiences
- Experience in in-house or private practice
