About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Anaesthesia to join our forward-thinking team at the Division of Surgery – BHRUT NHS. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake anaesthesia in the UK, with a focus on providing safe and effective care to our patients.
  • Work collaboratively with our surgical team to deliver high-quality surgical care, ensuring seamless transitions between anaesthesia and surgery.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of anaesthesia protocols and guidelines, ensuring compliance with best practice standards.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior anaesthetists, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent qualification in medicine.
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligible for registration within six months of interview.
  • Five years' experience in undertaking anaesthesia in the UK.

Desirable Criteria

  • Higher Medical Degree (MD or MSc) in anaesthesia or a related field.
  • Six months' advanced general training in anaesthesia.
  • Record of regular attendance at National Specialty meetings.
