This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Graduate Civil or Structural Engineer.
Main Responsibilities - Civil
- Assist in the delivery of numerous schemes for clients in the Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Public sectors.
- Produce clear and well-presented design, drawings, reports, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
- Undertake conceptual and feasibility design, as well as detailed design.
- Collaborate with other team members and project teams, and liaise directly with clients and other design team professionals.
- Comply with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance, and procedural standards.
Main Responsibilities - Structural
Analyze, design, and detail various structures/structural elements, including:
- Isolated steelwork (e.g., domestic extensions).
- Steel frames (e.g., portal sheds, office buildings).
- Concrete frames (e.g., multi-storey apartment blocks).
- Foundations (e.g., spread footings, pile, beams, and caps).
- Retaining walls.
- Timber floor systems.
- Load-bearing masonry (e.g., care homes).
- Site visits to inspect progress, answer contractor queries, and obtain existing information to inform subsequent design.
- Attend Design Team Meetings to establish client briefs, develop structural schemes, and present and discuss designs carried out.
Software and Training
Opportunity to work on various industry software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
As part of the JPP Group, you will be encouraged to attend CPD training offered to all employees by internal and external trainers.
Requirements and Attributes
- Hold an accredited BEng level degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent), at first or upper second class.
- Understanding of highway and drainage design preferable.
- Knowledge of S104, S38, S278 sectional agreements preferable.
- Strong IT knowledge and skills.
- Desire to work on a variety of project types and learn new skills to meet client needs.
- Understanding and use of civil engineering design software packages preferable, including Causeway PDS, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Strong communication skills and strong work ethic.
- Pro-active in self-directed CPD and keep up to date with appropriate standards and regulatory legislation, as well as developing staff within their team.
Working Hours and Benefits
- Monday to Friday.
- No weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year.
