About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our software development team as an industrial placement student. As a software development engineer, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of our software systems, working closely with our experienced team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and test new software drivers for our hardware systems
  • Design and implement user interfaces for our software applications
  • Maintain and improve our automated testing framework
  • Deploy new releases of our software systems
  • Collaborate with customers and team members to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
  • Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
  • Able to commence employment in summer 2025
  • Excellent knowledge of modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C# or C++
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming paradigm
  • Good communication and team working skills
Desirable Skills
  • Good knowledge of software design patterns and best practices
  • Good knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
