Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier to join our team at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, recommending wines to pair with their meals, and managing our wine inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recommend and serve wine to guests, taking into account their preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Manage and maintain our wine inventory, including ordering and stocking wine.
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of our wine list, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Work collaboratively with our culinary team to create wine pairings and menus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
  • Excellent knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • English language proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
