Hourly Rate: £26.62
Job Description:
SMART Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tutor to support vulnerable, at-risk, and disengaged learners with their core subjects. The successful candidate will work one-to-one with a young person, creating a calm and positive learning environment, building strong relationships with the individual and their families, and delivering tailored lesson plans to meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and effective lesson plans to cover the curriculum
- Support a young person with complex needs, differentiating lesson activities to meet their requirements
- Complete a home tuition report after each session, outlining the student's progress
- Work collaboratively with the young person's families to ensure a cohesive approach to education
Person Specification:
- Professional teaching qualifications (QTS, QTLS, PGCE) or extensive tuition experience supporting English, Maths, and/or Science
- Experience working with children and young people with additional learning needs (SEN, SEMH, ASD, Speech and Language Delay)
- Knowledge of strategies to manage challenging behavior and self-regulate emotions
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to acquire one
- Understanding of safeguarding practices
