About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Struan Lodge Care Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in leading our care team and ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the care team to ensure the smooth running of the home and create a positive atmosphere.
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, and toileting, while prioritizing their dignity and independence.
  • Oversee the ordering, administration, and documentation of medication, maintaining accurate records.
  • Engage with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure clear and compassionate communication.
  • Foster a team ethos, respecting diversity and promoting a supportive environment for all staff.
  • Welcome visitors and show prospective residents and families around the home's facilities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call bells and provide or call for assistance as needed.
  • Write and update care plans, risk assessments, and case notes to reflect residents' needs and wishes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and e-learning to take responsibility for your own growth and development.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies, including COSHH, and escalate concerns to management.
Requirements
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential. We also welcome applications from experienced Care Assistants actively working towards their Level 3.
  • Practical Medication Administration with competencies is required.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, delegating tasks effectively while maintaining a supportive environment.
  • A kind, caring, and compassionate personality with a sense of fun and a commitment to person-centred care.
