Digital Product Owner for Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing

Job Summary:

Lonza is a global leader in life sciences, operating across three continents. We're seeking a talented individual to serve as the voice of our Manufacturing Operations, guiding the development of our digital capabilities.

Role Purpose:

This person will lead a team of Global Product Owners, ensuring the digital system meets the business needs of our Development Services and Manufacturing business. They will be responsible for agile deployment and iterative evolution of network solutions, utilizing the IT organization's platforms as a foundation for development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a global service and Product Owner, ensuring alignment on how products/services are managed across the network.
  • Accountable for their team's agile deployment and iterative evolution of network solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring the systems required to manage the Product are maintained by their team.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team defines the business process supported by the computerized system/s.
  • Accountable for setting the validation and compliance expectation for Products and Processes owned by their team.
  • Maintains oversight of the integrity and performance of computerized systems.
  • Coordinates closely with IT/OT system owners for the operation and support of network solutions.
  • Also required to own Products from the Product Owner portfolio.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree - Biotechnology or similar related degree (any science background or maths/STEM).
  • Held an operational role in Biopharma and Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • Broad knowledge about digital technologies such as mobile technologies, Internet of Things, Data Science, cybersecurity, etc. in the context of manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of agile delivery methods.
  • Innovation Management methods incl. development of Business Models & Business Cases.
  • Good understanding of regulated environments and related challenges for digital transformation projects.
  • Proven experience with IT Security topics in the context of digitalization.
  • Proficiency in managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to operationalization, growth, and eventual retirement or replacement.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to gain buy-in from stakeholders, negotiate priorities, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
