We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Key Responsibilities- Take a leadership role in the development and clinical work of the team, providing medical expertise in multidisciplinary team meetings for working-age adults.
- Work closely with other team consultants, team managers, and clinical leads to support and develop the service.
- Establish excellent working relationships with partners in Royal Derby Hospital and within the trust.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to Royal Derby Hospital with complex comorbidities, evaluating risks, and working towards effective and safe discharge planning from hospital.
- Be the nominated Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act to the Royal Derby Hospital, in line with agreed procedures with acute trust partners.
- Contribute to undergraduate teaching for medical students, typically from Lincoln and Nottingham universities.
- Participate in research projects with support from the trust's excellent research department in local, regional, and national studies.
