Job Title: Early Years Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Saplings Nursery, a reputable and Ofsted-registered day nursery located within the grounds of Southmead Hospital.

About the Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, stimulating childcare to children aged 0-5 years. You will work as part of a team to ensure the health and safety of the children in your care, plan and evaluate day-to-day activities, and take responsibility for a group of children, including their learning diaries and paperwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, stimulating environment to encourage children to reach their full potential
  • Plan and evaluate day-to-day activities to ensure children experience a wide range of appropriate activities that meet their interests and learning needs
  • Organise both individual and group activities for the children and ensure they are adequately supervised on and off the site
  • Take responsibility and care for a group of children, taking the lead for their learning diaries and completing all observations, reports, and other paperwork as necessary
  • Work closely and build a good relationship with parents and ensure all relevant information is available to parents and communicate with them daily as regards their child's welfare
  • Provide a transition plan for new children to the nursery or for those children who are moving on to another setting or school
  • Work alongside other agencies to support special educational needs
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • NNEB/NVQ Level 3 in Childcare/BTEC Nursery Nursing
  • Experience with children between the ages of 0-5 years
  • NHS experience is desirable
