Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a background in civil or military engineering to join our dynamic consulting team. This role is pivotal in supporting the UK's foremost Naval development initiative, ensuring that all imported products and components meet UK legislative standards. Your engineering expertise will be essential in analyzing technical designs and collaborating with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to uphold supply regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive product compliance evaluations to ensure alignment with UK laws;
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and project managers, to collect necessary technical specifications;
  • Develop and revise technical documentation, such as compliance reports, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs);
  • Simplify complex technical information into clear and concise compliance documentation;
  • Conduct ongoing research to remain informed about changing regulatory standards and requirements;
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines;
  • Review and enhance existing documentation for precision, consistency, and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A solid engineering background in civil or military sectors is essential;
  • A minimum of three years of engineering experience in roles such as Maintenance Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Engineering Operations;
  • Military candidates are welcome, particularly those holding ranks such as Leading Hand, Petty Officer, Corporal, or Sergeant;
  • Familiarity with Defence Standards (e.g., DSA-02, ASEMS) is advantageous;
  • Exceptional technical writing abilities, with a knack for conveying complex information and technical drawings effectively;
  • A keen eye for detail and a thorough approach to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation;
  • Strong analytical and research skills to keep abreast of evolving regulations and industry best practices;
  • Proficiency in technical writing tools and software, including the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • UK Security Clearance is preferred, or candidates must be British citizens willing to undergo vetting.
