Position: Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Leamington Spa

Employment Type: Full Time - 4 days per week, 10 hours per day

Salary: £35,000-£37,000 per annum

Tecman Speciality Materials Ltd is an expanding manufacturing SME, dedicated to providing comprehensive support to its clients, ranging from engineering and technical assistance to high-volume production.

Our primary sectors include Wind Energy and Automotive, with a significant emphasis on the rapidly advancing Electric Vehicle market.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will oversee all daily quality operations, which encompass inspections of incoming goods, in-process product evaluations, and final packing checks prior to shipment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing products for compliance with specifications.
  • Addressing issues to restore compliance and executing immediate containment measures for non-compliant products.
  • Exercising full authority to halt production to safeguard product quality.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Familiarity with PPAP requirements.
  • IMDS knowledge (preferred).
  • Understanding of ISO 9001/IATF16949:2016 standards.
  • Statistical analysis skills.
  • Internal Auditor training (preferred).
  • Experience with 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Awareness of Keyence measuring instruments.

Your Role:

  • Ensure timely execution of all Quality Assurance tasks on-site.
  • Guide and mentor team members as necessary.
  • Manage the receipt, response, and tracking of customer reports, ensuring containment actions, root cause analysis, and sustainable solutions are implemented while keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Provide technical and quality support to manufacturing to ensure efficient production that meets quality standards.
  • Conduct and oversee quality process audits and implement corrective measures.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation in compliance with Tecman and customer requirements (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA).
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all quality-related documentation.
  • Compile documentation for evaluating and monitoring quality performance (e.g., PPM, internal/external audits).
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to identify and procure new equipment.
  • Train and onboard new Quality Department personnel.
  • Keep operational staff informed about quality standards and issues to maintain high-quality output.
  • Communicate and share quality data and findings with all internal departments to ensure compliance.
  • Propose innovative methods for implementing and controlling quality standards to enhance quality performance.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of IATF/ISO compliant documentation and systems.
  • Ensure personnel are knowledgeable about and adhere to the Quality System and plant procedures.
  • Coordinate and interpret statistical data to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure product inspection procedures and documentation are precise and traceable.
  • Regularly review and update FMEA and Control Plans, informing relevant personnel of any changes.
  • Ensure process instructions contain detailed and accurate quality information.
  • Review procedures when 8D's, APQP, or any product/process modifications occur.
  • Manage Customer Portal requirements and inform relevant personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work collaboratively to foster and enhance teamwork within the organization.
