About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our urgent inpatient care team, you will be responsible for providing specialist clinical services to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with severe/complex mental health needs using occupationally focussed evidence-based assessment and skills.
  • Lead on working with service users, using your expertise to provide therapeutic interventions and support.
  • Support junior members of the team and contribute to the development of high-quality occupational therapy services.
  • Provide professional advice and expertise to the urgent inpatient management team and contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Occupational Therapy Team Manager to ensure effective planning and delivery of the service.

Person Specification
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in mental health settings, with a focus on complex care.
  • Leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
