Contract Type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8:30 - 16:00
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work closely with our students who have a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to students, helping them to develop key and personal skills that they can use in and out of school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges
- Help students develop key and personal skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Assist students with their daily routines, including meal times, homework, and leisure activities
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviors
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as Psychology or Criminology
- Previous experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges
- Good general education levels in English and Maths, 5 grade and above
- Knowledge of the range of different types of learning and behavioral needs, including SEMH elements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
