About the Role

As a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive environment for individuals affected by dementia to enjoy a fun and engaging activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and engage with individuals with dementia, helping them feel at ease and included in the session.
  • Provide encouragement and support to participants, enabling them to participate in the singing activity.
  • Assist the session facilitator with the activities, either online or in-person.
  • Help with refreshments and create a welcoming atmosphere.

You'll be great for the role if:

  • You have an interest in developing meaningful relationships and making a positive impact.
  • You want to enable individuals with dementia to find their voice and express themselves through music.
  • You are a fun and enthusiastic individual who can bring energy and positivity to the sessions.
  • You have excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to display compassion and empathy.
  • Experience of dementia is not essential, but a willingness to learn and adapt is crucial.
